How to use
It is as easy to use D-Voicer as to say "one two three". Here is a description of how to do:
- 1. Start Voicer and click "Listen". This instructs Voicer to accept an incomming call.
- 2. Your friend or business partner types in the "Computer name" field your computer name(as seen in Windows network neighbourhood) or the IP address of your computer. Then he/she clicks "Connect".
- 3. Talk
A registered version can be started with parameters. The free version does not support parameters. Supported parameters are: -a:codec -l:port:listen -c:host:port:connect -i:device -o:device -d:direction -t:timeout -a:codec where 'codec' is one of: speex_8khz - SPEEX at 8 KHz (16 Kbps) speex_11khz - SPEEX at 11 KHz (18 Kbps) speex_16khz - SPEEX at 16 KHz (24 Kbps) speex_22khz - SPEEX at 22 KHz (20 Kbps) speex_32khz - SPEEX at 32 KHz (32 Kbps) ilbc_8khz - iLBC at 8 KHz (32 Kbps) ilbc_11khz - iLBC at 11 KHz (40 Kbps) ilbc_22khz - iLBC at 22 KHz (64 Kbps) g711_8khz - G.711 at 8 KHz (64 Kbps) g711_11khz - G.711 at 11 KHz (88 Kbps) g711_22khz - G.711 at 22 KHz (176 Kbps) gsm_8khz - GSM at 8 KHz (32 Kbps) gsm_11khz - GSM at 11 KHz (40 Kbps) gsm_22khz - GSM at 22 KHz (80 Kbps) lpc10 - LPC10 at 8 KHz (2.4 Kbps) If no codec is specified 'speex_16khz' will be used. -l:port:listen Listen for incoming connections. Where: 'port' is the port number on which to accept connections 'listen' yes/no - if yes, starts to listen for connections right after the application is started. In case the connection is closed will automatically start listening again. -c:host:port:connect Connect to another application. Where: 'host' is the host name or IP address of the computer to which to connect 'port' is the port number on the remote computer to which to connect 'connect' yes/no - if yes, connects to the remote computer right after the application starts. In case the connection is closed, will automatically reconnect. -i:device Specifies which recording device to be used to record sound data. 'device' is a number between 0-n. If 'device' is 0, the default recording device will be used. -o:device Specifies which playing device to be used to play sound data. 'device' is a number between 0-n. If 'device' is 0, the default playing device will be used. -d:direction Sets D-Voicer to work in specified direction "Send only" or "Receive only". 'direction' can be one of "send" or "receive". If 'direction' is "send", D-Voicer will record and send the sound data, but will not play any incoming data. If 'direction' is "receive", D-Voicer will play incoming sound data, but will not record nor send any sound data. -t:timeout Sets D-Voicer to disconnect after "timeout" time expires without receiving data from the peer. This option is usually used in combination with option "-l:port:yes" in case when D-Voicer is behind NAT router and D-Voicer is unable to disconnect when the peer closes the communication. Examples DVoicer.exe -l:5005:yes -a:ilbc_11khz -t:5 Start listening and accept connections on port 5005 with iLBC 11 KHz. D-Voicer will disconnect automatically after 5 second when the peer disconnects. DVoicer.exe -c:192.168.0.1:5005:yes -a:ilbc_11khz Connect to 192.168.0.1 port 5005 with iLBC 11 KHz Automatically connect and reconnect in case the connection gets closed. DVoicer.exe -l:5005:yes -a:ilbc_8khz -o:2 -d:receive Start listening on port 5005. Use codec iLBC 11 KHz Do not send sound data. Play incoming sound data at sound device #2. DVoicer.exe -c:192.168.0.1:5005:yes -a:ilbc_8khz -i:1 -d:send Connect to 192.168.0.1 port 5005 with iLBC 11 KHz Do not play incoming sound data. Record sound data from sound device #1.
